The 2024 New Zealand Society of Animal Production Conference will be held in Oamaru from the 5th to the 7th hosted through a joint conference with The New Zealand Grasslands Association and the New Zealand Agronomy Society.

The theme for 2024 Conference is 'Dust to Dollars' reflecting the change to the region as a result of irrigation.  The NZ Grasslands Association last held a conference in Oamaru in 1996 at which time the focus in the area was more dryland and high country farming  with a hint of dairying. The region has changed significantly with large irrigation schemes.
